The Virtual Relaity Hypnosos (VRH) system consists of three key state of the art components to help induce a deep hypnotic state:

An audio visual headset delivers crystal clear sound and vision while removing all external stimuli.

The headset is compact and unincumbering, allowing for use in any environment.

A compact, on board computer, equipped with an in-built screen and speaker allowing the operator to monitor the progress of the program while in use.

The system can be operated by battery or mains power.

A short 20 minute movie designed to take the subject into an initial relaxed state, then gently drawing them into a deep state of hypnosis.

The subject hears the voice of a qualified hypnotherapist while viewing synchronized vision and is gradually lowered into an altered state of conciousness.

Pain can be Managed in a Virtual Environment
Large, awkward technology and requirements for skilled practitioners have limited the application of mind-body therapies in clinical and trauma environments.

At Virtual Medicine, these problems were addressed, and a compact, state of the art technology was developed and termed VRH.

VRH refocusses the mind from pain to pleasant sensory stimuli— potentially shielding the patient from full awareness of a wide range of noxious stimuli.17, 23

In a virtual environment, auditory and visual overload are combined with distraction and subliminal hypnotic suggestions, leading to an altered state of consciousness, deep muscle relaxation, amnesia, time distortion and reduced levels of stress and perceived pain.17, 18, 24

According to psychoneuroimmunology research, a reduced level of stress and anxiety should have a positive influence on wound healing and immunity, and reduce psychosomatic pathology, disability, morbidity and mortality.

Virtual technology provides immediate access to the benefits of mind-body medicine in a consistent, reliable manner, without requirements for expert knowledge of the process.

VRH is a cognitive pain management therapy that can be used in isolation, or in conjunction with traditional pharmacologic strategies.25
